Diane Welsh has over 25 years of social work experience, including 15 years as a social services worker with the Adams County Department of Human Services. Beyond her clinical experience which allows her to address most aspects of child protection, Ms. Welsh has a personal passion for her work. Sixteen years ago she adopted her foster daughter who is now 29 years old. Together they worked hard to overcome her reactive attachment disorder.
Ms. Welsh joined the Children’s Law Center in 2002 as a clinical consultant. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State University in 1982. Some of her areas of expertise include investigation of child abuse and neglect, incest treatment, and family therapy. Beyond her work as a clinical consultant, she has been active in Adams and Denver best practice courts focusing on permanency and preparing teens emancipating from the child protection system for success. Ms. Welsh provides workshops and trainings on diligent search to help this population of children, most recently at the 2009 Colorado CASA Conference and at the 2009 Colorado Office of the Child’s Representative Conference. In 2010, she was nominated for the Kathy Hill Young Award for her work in the community and child advocacy.
