Sarah Berg, Clinical Consultant

Ms. Berg has more than 10 years of experience with at risk children and youth affected by abuse and trauma. She began her career working with adolescent and at risk youth in residential treatment programs in Boulder and Denver. This experience initiated a desire to work with children who are affected by trauma at an early age. While working towards her master’s degree, Ms. Berg interned as a clinical therapist at Children’s Charter Trauma Clinic and Catholic Charities in Boston.

Ms. Berg earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of New Hampshire and her Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Simmons College. Prior to joining the Children’s Law Center, Ms. Berg spent four years working as an ongoing caseworker with the Denver Department of Human Services. She has provided treatment and assessments in high need dependency and neglect cases as part of the home-based program.

Ms. Berg has participated in extensive training with the Kempe Center regarding assessing parent-child attachment and trauma. Her area of expertise is with early childhood, parent-child attachment, and trauma. She is compassionate and committed to the well-being of the children and youth she serves in the child welfare system.
