Terri Hoopes

Terri Hoopes is a 4th generation Colorado native. After obtaining her CPA in 1991, she worked for Deloitte & Touche in San Francisco, where her audit clients included resorts, hotels and city governments. Ms. Hoopes moved back to Colorado 16 years ago and started her own consulting business. Since then, she has assisted small businesses and not-for-profit organizations establish reliable accounting systems. Focusing on management’s questions, she develops and tailors systems and reports to address each organization’s particular concerns. Ms. Hoopes has assisted in the startup of four for-profit and three not-for-profit organizations. Her services go beyond what is offered by a traditional CPA and include finding funding opportunities, researching and obtaining all necessary licenses, permits, and insurances, and developing strategic and operating plans. Ms. Hoopes also assists individuals develop personal budgets, plan for college and retirement, and has been designated as a personal representative on four trust/estate documents.
 
Ms. Hoopes has a Masters of Taxation from Denver University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Montana, where she graduated Summa Cum Laud. She passed both the CPA and CMA (Certified Managerial Accountant) exams on her first attempt.
 
Ms. Hoopes has be a contract financial officer for the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center since 2005. Each year, she donates more than $20,000 of services in addition to the time for which she is paid.
