Jeff Romero, Clinical Consultant

Mr. Romero, a Colorado native, earned his bachelor’s degree from Adams State College majoring in sociology and psychology, and is currently pursuing a master’s in public administration at the University of Colorado, Denver.                   

Mr. Romero has dedicated the last 19 years of his professional career to working with children and families. He worked for the Arapahoe County Department of Human Services as an ongoing caseworker/Chaffee coordinator for seven years.  He has an additional seven years of experience as a counselor, supervisor and trainer in residential settings, including a substance abuse program, a program for those with developmental disabilities, and a secured residential child care facility. He also spent two years as program director for a grassroots high adventure/experiential learning transitional program and supervised the education and employment programs at Urban Peak.

Mr. Romero has served on many task forces and committees, including the Employment Subcommittee of the Economic Recovery & Poverty Reduction Task Force and the Task Force for Higher Education for Homeless & Runaway Youth. In addition to trainings focused on permanency and conflict resolution, he has completed Core 1-4 and Mastering the Art of Child Welfare Supervision.
