Volunteer Opportunities

Prevention Partnership: The Children's Law Center pairs volunteer attorneys with at-risk children to strengthen and preserve their families without court intervention. After completing a two-hour training, volunteer attorneys are assigned to a family and asked to meet with them regularly, over several months. Volunteer attorneys provide legal advocacy to caregivers sparing children the trauma of entering foster care. Email us for more information.

Domestic Violence Program: Representing Child Victims of Domestic Violence- The Domestic Violence Program recruits, trains and supports volunteer attorneys to advocate for children in domestic violence cases. Volunteer attorneys are asked to complete a one-day training session and accept at least one case. Cases require attorneys to conduct a two-week investigation and make recommendations in court on the children's behalf. Email us for more information.

Fundraising Committees: The Children's Law Center has individual, corporate, and special events fundraising committees. The individual and corporate committees meet monthly to strategize, organize and execute fundraising events and communications. The special events committees meet several months before the event and more frequently as the event approaches. Events include the Annual Dinner, Triple Bypass, and numerous smaller events. Email us for more information.

Special Skills: Professional and language skills are often useful to help us with management, fundraising or communicating with non-English speaking clients. Email us for more information.

Misc. Tasks: We are always accepting volunteers for spur-of-the-moment tasks including event staffing, office work, baking, delivering gifts, etc. Email us to put your name on the list or for more information.
